Graduate Scheme

Our graduate scheme for engineers is a two-year vocational programme designed to give you the competencies you need to become a Chartered Engineer. The programme is also designed to help to contribute to and influence new business critical technical and network developments.

You'll complete four six-month technical and commercial placements within the organisation (including possible overseas postings), as well as technical, business and competency training courses. These placements will also allow you to establish a useful network of contacts. At the end of the scheme, we'll offer you a permanent technical position in our Company.

The challenges and opportunities you face at work will contribute most to your continuing professional development. However, while your career development is your responsibility, Cable&Wireless Worldwide has Personal Development Schemes, and provides significant opportunities for work-based learning. We also provide advice and structured learning as you progress to Chartered Engineer.

Apprenticeship Scheme

The scheme is a 30-month Advanced Apprenticeship Programme resulting in a nationally recognised BTEC qualification in Electronics and Telecommunication. You'll also do extra BTEC accredited modules in telecoms, so you'll have a BTEC with an added specialism.

This is an intense, exciting and rewarding scheme for individuals willing to apply themselves, and you'll receive all the training, development, work shadowing and field-based experience you need to succeed. You'll be working with the very latest network and data hardware and software, and be involved in installing and maintaining our international network, which provides next-generation voice, data and application solutions for our corporate customers.
